Proverbs 31:8-9
“Open your mouth for those who can not speak, for the rights of all the unfortunate. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and defend the rights of the afflicted and needy.”
Jeremiah 22:16
“He pled the cause of the afflicted and needy; then it was well. Is not that what it means to know me?”
Psalm 22:24
“For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither has He hidden His face from Him; But when he cried to Him for help, He heard.”
James 1:27
“This is pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father, to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.”
Job 29:12-13; 15-16

Deuteronomy 24:19
“When you reap your harvest in your field and have forgotten a sheaf in the field, you shall not go back to get it; it shall be for the alien, for the orphan, and for the widow, in order that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.”
Deuteronomy 24:21-22
“When you gather the grapes of your vineyard, you shall not go over it again; it shall be for the alien, for the orphan, and for the widow. And you shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt; therefore I am commanding you to do this thing.”
