Pray
**Praise that British Airways had a strike, and we were refunded HALF of each of our ticket costs. We had to purchase round-trip tickets in order to get a Zambian visa, and we knew they would go to waste, which felt so….wasteful! Well, British Airways had a strike during the week of our return tickets, so they refunded the price of each return ticket, which was about $5,000! Praise God!
**met a baby with Down syndrome this morning who had never been diagnosed with Ds (7 months old at this writing). He came to the physical therapy clinic with his brother, and a therapist spotted him, so know he can get therapy he wouldn’t otherwise have gotten (and it turns out his brother had no needs, so it was clearly God who brought them there.)
*Please pray that our vehicle would move through customs and be freed up so we can use it. It is sitting at the Toyota dealership, but paperwork needs to happen (!!!) so that we can take possession of it. Our borrowed vehicle must be returned on Sunday, June 20th, and then we will be without a car. Renting is prohibitively expensive, and buses for six people would be, as well. So, please pray with us for a Zambian miracle!
*Please pray for us to have wisdom for who to help, and how much. The need is so great, poverty is so completely normal, that everyone we meet needs some sort of help with food, transport, medicine, land rates, etc. Wisdom of Solomon would be great!
*Please pray for the families we are serving. They are so isolated and have very little supports. Many do not even attend church because of the stares and unwelcome attitudes.
*Please pray for us as we network here, and try to find therapeutic equipment for children who need it, or that we would have creativity to make what we need to make.
*Please pray for balance for us as we learn a new culture, and a new language, and work to be useful with the skills God has given us and called us to. Pray for Beth and Eric and I as we adjust to so much newness. (Maggie, and Mollie and Samuel are doing much better adjusting than we are at this point!)
*Praise with us for tremendous support from local missionaries who have helped us with housing, vehicle, and cultural adaptation. We are so much better able to deal with what is happening because of the help we have received, and the kindnesses we have experienced.
*Please pray that God would continue to reveal that “He does not abhor the affliction of the afflicted” but rather has declared that “in Him the orphan finds mercy ” and He loves to show the greatness and the goodness of His works through them
*Pray that He would continue to raise up a people that share His heart and reflect His love for the least of the least of the least.
*Please pray for the global economic crisis as that crisis destabilizes governments and reduces resources to the most severely affected, the most incapable of responding, is the orphan and vulnerable child with special needs. According to most experts, we are likely to see a vast increase both in number and mortality of orphans, and again, especially those who have special needs
*Plead with God from His Word of what He has promised to be and do. ( As an example, go to our Scriptures Tab, and pray to God that He would provide and be all that He declares and promises to be in those passages.)
*Conformity of our lives to God’s purposes in all things.
*Greater love and holiness of heart and life.
*Preparing our way in every area.
*Pray for wisdom of our Board of Directors
*Finances
*Pray for monthly supporters, for each of our different programs. Costs in Zambia are higher than we anticipated, and we want to use as much for other people as we possibly can.
